ABOUT THE IMPERIAL HOUSE
An Unbroken Line of Descent
Prince Theodore II is a direct descendant of the ruling Byzantine dynasties of Macedonia and Nicaea (Laskaris). In full accordance with international nobility law and the verifiable transmission of dynastic rights, he now assumes headship of both Houses. In this capacity, he has been recognised by many other royal and imperial houses and religious and secular authorities; and, as a result, his position as Fons Honorum is supported by numerous arbitral awards granted by the courts.
In the Orthodox tradition, Prince Theodore understands his inheritance as a vocation: to guard, renew, and transmit the religious, philosophical, and cultural patrimony of the Roman Empire (often termed “Byzantine”). Accordingly, the Prince has a deep interest in the virtues, letters, and arts shaped by Constantinople. He invites scholars, clergy, and all persons of goodwill to consider petitioning for membership in the Imperial Order of Saint Thomas the Apostle.
